It was established by the United Nations in 1972 to mark the opening of the Conference on Human Environment.
It is used by the government or world to encourage awareness about the environment and to not damage trees and plant more & more trees.
It is to prevent the negative effects of the environment worldwide.
It is celebrated in different countries and cities where several environment-related topics are discussed and encourage people to protect our environment.
It was started with minimum support but now it got a large global platform to reach as many people and it is reached more than 100 countries.
It is celebrated in India b doing various activities in schools and colleges.
To create awareness among the students, teachers plan to organize many effective and useful programs.
Such as essay writing, lecturing, speech, topic or subject discussion, quiz competitions, lectures related to topics, theme performance, art competition, banners displays, rallies, film shows, etc.
The state of our environment if falling day by day due to many reasons like pollution, global warming, melting of glaciers, etc.
Our environment is polluted by many reasons like radiations, vehicle exhaust, industrial waste, pesticides, fertilizers and many more.
According to a study, almost 55 lakh people die every year and the reason is the polluted environment or polluted air. And almost 12 lakh of them are from India.
And almost 11 cities in India are counted in most polluted countries/ cities in the world.
The level of drinking water is also lowering down because of excessive waste of water.
We should stop this to save our earth. There will be green earth or there will be no earth.
We can save this by doing some measured like applying 3 R’s (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle), we should plant trees as many as we can, should stop using plastic bags and try to get a good option in place of plastic bags which will be much convenient and safe for the earth.
We should save water, save electricity, save forests, should not waste food, have a habit of reuse rather than use and throw, should use cycle, walk or use public transport rather than personal vehicle (which decreases the pollution), or do carpooling to do less pollution, and we should protect other animals (rather than hunting them and do not disturb life cycle of earth) and plants too because human being cannot complete environment alone all species are required to make a good and fresh environment
